We will celebrate the last weekend of Ana Mendieta: Thinking About Children's Thinking with a discussion between filmmaker, niece and Ana Mendieta's Goddaughter, Raquel Cecilia Mendieta and curator, Amy Rosenblum Martín. Raquel will share unique anecdotes about the artist and how Ana's experimental practice continues to impact Raquel's work as a documentary filmmaker as well as that of Raquel's 10-year-old daughter Anabella budding artist aspirations.    

Raquel is an independent filmmaker whose most recent film, Whispering Cave, will screen at the Jeu de Paume in Paris, France in October 2018.  She is also the Associate Administrator for the Estate of Ana Mendieta Collection and was responsible for overseeing the digital restoration of the artist’s works on film and video. This program provides an intimate glimpse into the conceptual artist's practice through the eyes of an adult as well as a child. This program is open to visitors of all ages.
