JULIE DELLA TORRE
ABOUT THE STORYTELLER
Julie Della Torre is an established storyteller in the Metropolitan area. Her list of performances include The Hans Christian Anderson Statue in Central Park, Wave Hill, Sunnyside Historic Site, N.J. Botanical Garden and the Newark Museum. She has led workshops and performed at storytelling festivals throughout the area and founded and coordinated the New Jersey Storytelling Festival. She is currently curator of the Sunday Family Storytelling Series at Puffin Cultural Forum in Teaneck, N.J.
Through her ongoing work as resident storyteller, Julie has told and taught the art of storytelling to hundreds of children and adults. She also has taught adults at Rutgers University, the Adult Community School of Glen Rock, the N.J. Library Association, and William Paterson University, among others.
With degrees in Special Education from Kent State University and in Communicative Disorders from Johns Hopkins University, Julie is well versed in the educational benefits of storytelling in all venues to audiences of all ages.
