Join award winning author Michael Datcher for a reading of his new children's release Harlem at Four with illustrations by Frank Morrison! Harlem at Four traces the history of our neighborhood, Harlem at the turn of the last century in addition to telling the story of a little girl named Harlem forging a new path in the 21st Century. Followed by Q&A and signing with the author and art activities inspired by the book.

Dr. Michael Datcher is an associate clinical professor of writing at New York University. He did his undergraduate work at UC Berkeley, his Masters at UCLA and his Ph.D. at UC Riverside in English Literature. Datcher is the author the Ferguson-area historical novel AMERICUS,the critically-acclaimed New York Times Bestseller RAISING FENCES and of the 2020 Pulitzer Prize nominee ANIMATING BLACK AND BROWN LIBERATION: A Theory of American Literatures. Datcher's work often interrogates the intersection of knowledge production and social justice.
